Leifeng, whose image is engraved on our heart, is a cultural icon in China’s history. The name not only stands for a spirit of selfless devotion and high morals but is also a call for the bright side of human nature.
We have always been devoted to turning this spirit into actual deeds to commemorate this great soldier.
On Mar. 15th, a score of employees organized by Poly’s trade union went to a local elderly people’s home and performed voluntary activities to carry forward the spirit of Leifeng. Some volunteers helped the elderly cut the hair, some did the cleaning while others interacted with the elderly.
A new employee in Financial and Accounting Department performed a dance for the elderly. The elderly showed the volunteers handicrafts made by themselves. An old scholar who had once stayed in the former Soviet Union chatted with the volunteers in excellent Russian and gave them his photo in Russia as a present.
In the afternoon, the volunteers came to Oriental Boai Children’s Welfare Home that they had been before. Kids ran joyfully to those “dads” and “moms” who once held them in arms and chatted with them. They were not as shy and reserved as the first time and enjoyed themselves immensely in the games.
Many young employees in our company joined the volunteer team as soon as they came back from business trips abroad. Those employees born after the 1980s,guided by senior staff, carry forward the spirit of Leifeng with sincere enthusiasm and ordinary action.
