【PRNEWSWIRE】POLY TECHNOLOGIES INC. LAUNCHES PUBLIC WELFARE
CAMPAIGN IN TANZANIA

2015-02-18

BEIJING, February 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Poly Technologies Inc. recently kicked off its social awareness program Public Welfare Campaign in Tanzania, the goal of which is to enhance the public's awareness of the area's natural environment and the importance of wildlife conservation. Poly Technologies has joined hands with the World Conservation Society (WCS) and The Travel Channel to film and produce Protecting Our Home, a TV series focused on the protection of the region's large wild animals. The release of the TV series on The Travel Channel and several participating web portals - a program that conveys the harmonious development between man and nature - calls for the public to boycott the consumption of wild animals and to come together to protect our wondrous and glorious planet.

Poly Technologies organized and launched the campaign in May of 2014 in a move to enhance the public's awareness of the natural environment and of wildlife conservation. Together with WCS and The Travel Channel, Poly Technologies traveled more than 5,000 kilometers to spend two weeks interviewing and shooting footage on location, capturing the real lives of wild animals, the natural ecology of Tanzania and the local government's endless efforts towards environmental protection. Interviewees ran from wildlife patrols and experts working for wildlife conservation organizations to members of the local Hadza and Masai tribes. The TV series has received acclaim from all sectors of society.

Poly Technologies general manager Wang Lin said, "As a globalized business, Poly Technologies has been committed to international economic cooperation and local construction for people's livelihood for a long time. Africa is one of Poly's important potential markets. As its business continues to grow year by year, Poly has been paying more and more attention to improving the livelihoods of native populations, fulfilling its social responsibilities, as well as encouraging wildlife conservation and respect for the natural environment. Poly deeply feels its obligation to making the mission an unremitting endeavor. The company has made it part of its corporate philosophy to help and protect Africa while taking part in the continent's economic development."

In 2014 Poly Technologies achieved double-digit growth across all major indicators, including operating income, profit before tax and economic added value. Although the company has developed quickly, it continues to attach great importance to social responsibilities. The company works continuously on perfecting the its non-proliferation export control self-discipline mechanism, strengthening non-proliferation export controls, and complying with the Chinese government's commitment in respect to international obligations and resolutions passed by the UN Security Council. The company spares no effort in any and all steps it takes to aid in the maintaining of world peace and to drive regional economic and social development. Deputy Director of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Huang Shuhe noted that foreign investments by some state-owned companies have notably beneficial effects and go a long way in helping to present a positive image of the company and of China. The Public Welfare Campaign effort in Tanzania is a pioneering undertaking launched by Poly Technologies to fulfill a state-owned company's social responsibilities when working outside of its home country and to act responsibly in the role of a company operating in Africa.
