Poly International pays great attention to the education of poor children in places where Poly runs its business. The project “to Illuminate Africa” launched by Poly International has equipped more than 30,000 families in remote areas across 22 African nations with solar-powered system, established solar power stations for remote schools to dramatically improve their teaching conditions, which makes active contributions to a sustainable development of these underprivileged regions.

In 2013, Poly Technologies, through employment of new-energy products and technologies, provided 25,000 sets of solar photovoltaic system to Ethiopia. It covered seven of the nine administrative districts in Ethiopia and all the two municipalities directly under the Ethiopian Central Government, totaling 25,000 peasant households of 383 villages (cooperatives) in 28 townships. The installation of the system solved problems of power supply for illumination, TV, radios and charging of cell-phones in many Ethiopian rural areas and outlying poverty-stricken regions. It put an end to the long history of no electrical power supply in these regions, and dramatically promoted the living standards of the residents, and accelerated local commerce and economy growth.

In May, 2016, one solar energy system donated by Poly International to Kawanda School was inaugurated. Kawanda School is located in Sembabule, Uganda. It has 1,063 students and 33 classrooms. To solve lighting problems in the classroom and efficiently improve the study environment, Poly International, upon dispatching its technical staff to the school for on-spot survey, proposed a technical solution and donated the solar energy system to Kawanda School. With the power generated by the system, all the classrooms are now illuminated with LED lighting, and power demand to support operation of the teachers’ computers, printers and photocopiers is satisfied. The teaching conditions of the school has been dramatically promoted.
